Arctic Ascent is now free to watch on YouTube
I’m absolutely delighted to share that all three episodes of Arctic Ascent with Alex Honnold are now available to watch on YouTube.
Filmed over six extraordinary weeks in East Greenland’s Scoresby Sund region, Arctic Ascent followed an ambitious expedition led by climber Alex Honnold, alongside Hazel Findlay, Aldo Kane, Mikey Schaefer, Adam Kjeldsen, and an incredible support team. While the climbers set out to attempt the first ascent of the towering Ingmikortilaq sea cliff, I had the privilege of leading a diverse scientific programme across one of the least-studied regions of the Arctic.
Working with 12 research institutions, including NASA, the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS), and the Universities of Liverpool and Buffalo, we carried out more than 18 scientific research protocols across glaciers, ice caps, fjords, and rock walls.
It remains one of the most challenging and rewarding expeditions of my career, and I’m overjoyed that these episodes are now freely accessible to everyone.

I hope you enjoy the adventure, the science, and this remarkable corner of the Arctic as much as we did.
