Under Antarctica: Mission Accomplished!

đŸ‡ŠđŸ‡¶ On January 21 at 8:50 p.m., after 80 days of expedition and 4,000 km traveled, we reached Hercules Inlet with Matthieu Tordeur, on the interior coast of the Antarctic continent.

⛷đŸȘ The Under Antarctica expedition thus becomes the first French crossing of the interior of Antarctica by kite-ski, and the first kite-ski expedition dedicated to polar science.

This crossing also marks a female first: I am the first woman to have completed this exact Antarctic route.

For nearly three months, we progressed at the rhythm of the wind, cold, and ice, scanning and mapping the depths of the Antarctic ice sheet to contribute to a better understanding of this key continent in the face of climate change.

💙 Reaching the end of this dream is an immense joy for us.

Under Antarctica was not just a crossing. It was also a scientific, educational, and human program, conducted under the auspices of UNESCO and the Decade of Action of Cryospheric sciences and shared with 300,000 students around the world through the educational program developed with Témoins Polaires.

A collective adventure, lived far beyond the ice. The expedition ends here, but the adventure continues — in the field, on screen, and soon in person with you!

đŸ™đŸ» None of this would have been possible without our exceptional partners and supporters: AXA, Rothschild & Co, ROLEX Perpetual Planet, La Couronne ArgentiĂšre, IT Link Group, Fondation Etrillard, Mairie de Val d'IsĂšre, Fondation Alphonse Weicker, Grand Nord Grand Large, Fondation Eau, Neige et Glace, Helly Hansen, and MMG | Millet Mountain Group — and to our institutional partners MinistĂšre des Affaires Ă©trangĂšres français, MinistĂšre chargĂ© de la Mer et de la PĂȘche, Catherine Chabaud, The Explorers Club, Societe des Explorateurs Francais THANK YOU for believing in science, this mission, and its message.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our scientific partners and engineers, whose tireless support during the expedition turned the seemingly impossible into reality and made it possible to collect data in some of the harshest conditions on Earth notably IDS GeoRadar Fabio Giannino Davide Morandi Laurent Mingo 💙 đŸ©” Grazie! Merci!

Special thanks to Mathilde Drouot and Camil Després, who worked behind the scenes from France to bring this expedition to you almost in real time.

My deepest thanks also go to my family, friends, and colleagues at AMAP - The Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme, whose constant support, encouragement, and trust carried me through every stage of this journey, from preparation to the very end.

🌐 Thank you all for following along!

I hope that through this expedition, people have discovered a little more about Antarctica, fallen in love with its beauty, and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of science. And above all, I hope it inspires a sense of urgency to continue fighting — harder than ever — to protect our cryosphere and secure a sustainable future for our planet.
